Kim Mueller was crowned as the Panthers Homecoming queen for 1987, during halftime of the foot- ball game with the Superior Wildcats, Oc- tober 2 Her attendants were Jennifer Waters, Shawn Hood. Jan Rasmussen, and Kristi Sherwood They were chauf- feured around the track to the grand- stand in convertibles, by Seniors Bryan Vignery, Kendall Talley, Jeff Burdett, Terry Calgren. and Matt Stolzenburg During the memorable ride the band serenaded them with the song, Somewhere Out There A capacity crowd of approxi- mately 1400 red-clad fans added even more to the excitement which had been building up all week The crowd fell silent as they anxiously awaited for CHS princi- pal Mike Aytes to announce the queen Following the queen's selection was the anticipated winner of the traditional Spirit Stick, an overwhelming shout of joy was heard as the Seniors won the coveted award. The Panther gridsters highlighted the evening and caught the excitement of the crowd by making tracks all over the Superior Wildcats, winning (13-0). A dance by 99KG topped off the weeks activities as Homecoming 1987 came to an awesome and memorable close Homecoming 9 ■ Kim Mueller reigned as Homecoming queen at the home footbal game against Superior Her escort was Terry Peltier
