Top this page: The 1955-56 FHA was sponsored by Allene Wenger and Palricla Dwerlkotle. Middle this page: This page from the 1922 Hurkjru shows the status of education sites in Concordia. Concordia High celebrated its one hundredth graduation with two special projects. The first, a slide sound presentation of the school’s history, was largely researched and developed by Mrs. Patricia Hanson. Eric Erickson and Clark Talley provided the photographic work. The second, a booklet entitled The First Century at Concordia High”, was edited by Henry R. Baxa. Teachers and students of past and present contributed writing to record memories of A CENTURY TO REMEMBER. THEIR GIFT AND OUR RESPONSE The law of Kansas authorized this school-, The voters of Concordia demanded iti The taxpayers of Concordia financed it-. The Superintendent and Board of Education provide for iti The Principal and Faculty conduct it-, But we students are the only ones who can justify it; By our deeds we reward or disgrace these givers. The architects have built the body of this school; It is we who give it a soul. (This poem and photo on opposite page appeared in the 1931 Hurkaru. first yearbook after the dedication of the current high school original building.) 7
