The Spirit Bell competition, which included dress-up day and red day. was won by the class of 1981. To add to the festive occasion, the Panthers tromped the Trojans by a score of 59 to 50. for their first victory of the season. A dance following the game was held in the old gym from 9:45 to 11:45. Approximately 125 students attended. The band for the dance was High Voltage. 81 Senior Wrestlers Johnny Letourneau-119 Mike Thoistrup-126 WRESTLERS DOMINATE LEAGUE The 1980 81 wrestling squad finished the season with a dual record of 9-1-0, the best dual record ever. They were League, Regional and Sub-State Champions and finished 6th in the State Johnny Letourneau was a State Champion with a 27-1- 0 record, Dan Delforge was 3rd in the State with a 22-10- 0 record and Mark Winter was 4th in the State with a 24-8-0 record. School records were set or tied by Johnny L. most wins -27 and most 3point near falls -32; Greg Balthazor most falls season- 18 and most falls career- 42; Tom Bieker most major decisions -7 and most reversals -44; Nick Budreau most escapes -21. The band was Mainstreet from Manhattan. The gym was brightly decorated with rainbow colored streamers on the ceiling. Two lighted rainbows and a frog pond added to the festivities. The walls were enhanced by numerous pictures of Muppets. such as Animal, Kermie, Miss Piggy, and Fozzie Bear. The band was backed up by pic- tures of the Muppet band in action. The Kissing Cove had picture of Miss Piggy attacking Kermit the Frog. Over 100 couples signed up to at- tend the dance.
