Arts and Crafts Art is important in high school education in that it can help a stu- dent begin to see new things in his surroundings and to approach life in a more creative manner. At C.H.S., this creativity is developed under Dennis Thompson and Dennis Southwick who teach a total of 10 classes in Art and in Crafts. A reels covered include leather crafts, pottery, painting, drawing, and work with metals and clay. For the first time, this year Art and Crafts were extended to the Eighth grade. It is hoped by the department that in the 74-75 school term, these offerings will be avail- able to students in grade 7.
