Starting up the ladder of learning as bewildered freshmen in 1949, the class of '53 chose for leaders Leo LeSage, president; Gene Child, vice-president; Joan LeSage, secretary-treasurer. Miss Thompson, Miss Wycoff, Mr. Brewer, and Mr. Kramer served as sponsors during the year. The social activities of the year consisted of a hayrack ride, dance, and a potluck. In their sophomore year they elected Johnny Davies as president; Joy Bourne, vice-president; Norman Collins, secretary; and Larry Stamm, treasurer, to lead them. Their sponsors were Miss Barekman, Miss Wilkinson, Miss Neilson and Mr. Campbell. The i.-zyrack ride to the twin mounds was a big success. As juniors, the class of ’53 selected Leta Hudsonpillar, president; Johnny Davies, vice-president; Donna Woods, secretary; and Agatha Smock, treasurer, to be their leaders. For money making projects they sold football and basketball pencils, magazines, had football and basketball concessions, and the junior play. Under the guidance of their sponsors. Miss Meyer, Mr. Koufmann, Mi ss Ethridge, and Miss Johnson, the class sponsored an all-school party. The climax of the year’s activities was the Junior-Senior banquet and prom. Now as full-fledged seniors, the class of '53 has reached the top of the ladder. This year their officers were Johnny Davies, president; Darrell Zohn, vice- president; Shirley Palmquist, secretory; and Ann Hanson, treasurer. Sponsors included Miss Fletcher, Mr. Bryant, Mr. Van Kooten, Miss Milliken.The St. Pat's assembly, the Junior-Senior Prom, the senior play, and the senior trip to Colorado were high-lights of the year.
