Home Economics motive in bvmenmfeing ITH an eye on the future, home eco- nomics majors and minors practice their skills in the food and clothing labs under careful supervision. After weekly lectures on third Hoor of the home ec. building the girls try out their theories on button holes and baking powder biscuits. Supplementary studies include color and design, textile painting, in- terior decoration, health and child care. Each major in the department must pass a final practical test by meeting the rigid requirements of residence in the home management house for six weeks. These girls then graduate with a B.S. degree and are qualified to teach, do extension work or be- gin their own home man agement. A turnover of laundresses, maids, cooks and hostesses occurs frequently as each home economic major takes her turn in the homemanagement house, supervised by Miss Kruger. 3 . t , i r E' H1 l 1 Returning after summer study in Alaska, Dorothea Nevramon rejoined Iulia Brekke, Florence Kruger and Alice Polikowsky in teaching home ec. lilsofcwls in if lt, largf fifolw 0 'alAud1I0fll fl . 503 game of 15 1 P ical es ditorit ball cr 7,000 A SUP, Q? .
