The department offers a number of Bible study courses, doctrine, church history, etc. For the growing Christian, particularly for the pre-seminarians, religion classes are but a basis for further study. Teaching modern languages to seven hundred students is the challenge met by-fstandingj Robert Berens, Martha Brennun, Mrs. Mc- Leod, Mrs. Schoberg, fseatedj Martha Sil- seth, G. L. Schoberg and Elisabeth Stiening. History, Modern Languages, Mathematics Cornprehending facts, nurnhers and nouns RESENTING the past, so that its 600 students may better understand the present, the department of history has a great challenge to meet. An active and growing department of foreign languages added new instructors of German and French this year. This department makes language study more interesting and practical with -its special Spanish, German and French dinners. Representa- tives of the Spanish classes make an annual tour of Mexico during the summer. Training in logical thinking is stressed by the mathematics department. One new teacher has been added to this department, too. Men of math-Iohn Olson, Sigurd Mundhjeld, Clifford Ranheim and Gerald Heuer-train Cobbers to think logically and accurately.
