ji I HI u I m { m m jiiii sismuttw wins ldd uiid Concordia Guild Kitchen j in i i |i i j 1 r - ! iir Li p : J.i - DEDICATION When we look back over the forty years of our Concordia we think primarily of our first president. Dr, A. H. Schwermann, who served his Lord faithfully in this position for thirty-three years. To him, who has guided our Concordia through years of both poverty and prosperity, we dedicate this book. Our Lord has accorded me the kindness to serve our beloved Concordia over a period of forty years. It was a high privilege to assist in laying the foundations of our first Canadian School for the training of workers in the Kingdom. It was a joy to observe the physical, mental, and spiritual development of hundreds of students and to do this in the company of those co-workers, especially on the staff, who were always ready to give their whole-hearted cooperation. And boundless is the satis¬ faction to observe how our former Concordians are, with consecration and en¬ thusiasm, leading souls to eternal life through the private and public proclamation of the glorious message: The blood of Jesus Christ, his Son, cleanseth us from all sin. Reviewing the past, I am compelled to say: Goodness and mercy have followed me all the days of my life. Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us, but unto Thy name give glory, for Thy mercy and Thy truth ' s sake. May our gracious Lord continue to lead His never-ending streams of blessings into our Concordia until the church militant will have become the church triumphant, where we shall be forever with our Jesus. l.J C wW «- f ' SEATED: Professor Eckert, Beatrice Henke, Lawrence Koehler, Betty Knoch, Harold Witte. STANDING: Eric Neumann, Dorothy Issel, Edwin Breit- kreutz, Lorraine Pohl, Ernie Leonhardt, Karen Hennig, Lloyd Heinemann. £ Stir AdmOiAxSPiatooiA THE BOARD OF CONTROL v Reverend Fred Schole, (Representing A. B. C. District) .Mr. Walter Kupsch President Roland Frantz, (Executive Officer) Mr. John Underschultz, (Chairman) Reverend Alvin Raduenz Mr. John Armbruster, (Secretary) Mr. Robert Tegler THE FACULTY Another yearbook comes off the press to serve as a lasting reminder to all those interested in Concordia of the activities of this school of the church! For many, however, it will be more than a reminder. For the members of the Con¬ cordia staff, it will recall the privilege of serving our Lord for another year in the in¬ terest of His Kingdom and of contributing much to the development of future servants of the church. For the graduating students, it will perhaps be the most cherished of all their Concordia yearbooks, insofar as it reminds them of their final year at the school that was so important a factor in their young lives. For others, it will be a summary of a year of work and activity which will have additional meaning for them as they grow older. It ' s good that we have these reminders and these memories - good, because they help us to turn to our God in gratitude and praise for His many blessings. May this yearbook accomplish just that. Why? Because the answer gives us a pretty good idea whether the fellow is well-organized, is handling his financial affairs wisely, and planning for both his own and his family ' s future. “If we find a man with a wife and two small chil¬ dren and a thousand dollars of insurance, we wonder why he’s taking such long chances.” This shows one reason why so many young men today are making Lutheran Brotherhood life insur¬ ance a basic part of their financial planning. Lutheran Brotherhood—with low-cost plans such as the Broth¬ erhood Provider—makes it easy to avoid the risk of putting a severe burden on your parents, family or dependents. The low cost also makes it easy to start building your insurance program right now while still in college. This means you can have full protection throughout the years of heaviest family responsibil¬ ities, and then at retirement get back every premium dollar, plus a substantial gain on your investment. Talk to your Lutheran Brotherhood representative about the advantages of beginning your insurance program early, when the rates are lowest—or write for details on Lutheran Brotherhood policies.
