The students in his classes are those who are at the same time preparing for Confirmation. Pastor Appelt was born in Australia, but received his preparatory education at our college in Fort Wayne and at the Seminary in St. Louis. For some years he was president of the small Synod in New Zealand. He came to Canada in 1926 and for many years served the congregation in Wetaskiwin, Alberta. Since 1945 he has been living in Edmonton and ministers to the small flock of the Bethlehem congregation in the eastern part of the city. 23
