'942 THE SENIOR CLASS HISTORY September of 1938 found 15 aspiring enrollers as members of the freshmen class at C.T.H.S. feeling slightly bashful but very hopeful we started our career as freshies in the struggle for knowledge. As usual after initiation we immerged ready for anything. However fate was kind to us and under the tutelage of the faculty-Smith-Stone-Rayl-Pope we came through and tightened our belts for round two. Our freshman class officers were: President-Juninr Clarkg Secretary-Alene Hanlong Treasurer-Betty Stroup. As .Sophomores we began to develop into ruddy seamen and were able to eke 'out the crew engaged in extracurricular activities. Donating material to both boys and girls basket- ball teams we' began to feel that we had come into our own. Mr. Stone left us this year and was replaced by I-'Lr. McGarvey. One member left our fold at mid-term leaving 13 but not unlucky classmated to finish our Sophomore year. , Round three coming up. Gaining experience courage and fighting strength we were ready to tackle the third milestone in our high school journey. As class officers we chose: President-John Gaahamg Secretary-Treasurer-Junior Clark. Sending forth valuable representatives to the basketball teams and giving a notable account of ourselves when- ever called upon we rowed straight ahead to the last drink from the cup of knowledge. Mrs. Rayl was replaced by Miss Craig. Seniors!! Yes this is our year. Joined by recruits from North Washington we pre- sented a strong united front ready to push ahead to our goal-graduation. As the Annex goes to press we know that in a short time we will be leaving our Alma Mater. We are sorry to go for pleasant memories lie behind. Memories of good times enjoyed on the way ' and friendships that were made all make us hesitate to leave our underolassmen. We wish to extend our thanks to the faculty for making our voyage pleasant and for extending a helping hand in time of trouble. We hope that you under classmen will have as pleasant a trip as we did and now Seniors to you Good luck and bon voyage. DORIS RIDER
