During the football season they were invited to play at Carolina's High School Band Day and received the honor of substituting for the University of Tennessee's band. This was the year for the Shrine Bowl Parade also, and Concord shone as one of the three bands which occupied the field at half-time. Marching in the Concord and Kannapolis Christmas parades, partici- pating in the band contest, staging a band clinic for the high schools of North and South Carolina are only a few of the numerous tasks which this organization undertook.
