Varsity Wrestling Grapplers brought Carrier 100th win KNEELING Jim McEachran, Dennis Mudgett, Dave Means, John Maddock, Tad Llaucna, Tom Jardine STANDING Coach Don Carrier, Greg Ewert, Ted Ellis, Jon Livesay, Gary Bruce, Don Means, Paul Sudan, Craig Christensen. At the beginning of the season. Concord appeared to have the strongest team in the league. The team breezed through pre-season with 6 wins and 1 loss. The day before the league matches started, the team suffered two serious injuries in practice to two of their best wrestlers. One was 154 lb. Dave Gonzales, who would have been a league champion in Coach Carrier's opinion. Concord sent one of the strongest teams into the D.V.A.L. Tourney, with 9 seeded wrestlers and 8 of those 9 were seeded no. 1 or no. 2 in their weight classes. The 74 team gave Coach Don Carrier his 100th dual meet win in the D.V.A.L., THE FIRST D.V.A.L.
