CLASS HISTORY SCENE I 'Twas in the year of '49 when as shy, giggling, awkward freshies we gazed at the seemingly gigantic halls, and confused and bewildered though we were, we chose Mr. Miller as sponsor, president, joel West, vice-president, Raymond Stull, secretary, Bev- erly Troyer, and treasurer, Carlie Heffner. And before we knew it the first year in high' whizzed swiftly by. SCENE II On to the scene we strut gabbing as we look at the freshies, Were we like that when we were young? Oh, No, not us!!!! Secretly we worshiped those hustling, bustling seniors. This year we voted Keith Martin as president, Vic Dupuis as vice- president, and as secretary Mary jo Dusek and Joanne Williams as treasurer. Mrs. Hellman was chosen as our sponsor. Shels swell, ain't - oops! excuse me-isn't she? You see we're just learning-and LEARN we did with time out only for the many happy school activities and the l:est of all, our Halloween party at Studebaker Park. We looked forward to our Junior year with all the anticipation that usually came at grading time. SCENE III Whew!!! Rush, rush, rush!!! We could hardly wait for this eventful year to start and starting it off right we chose as sponsor once again Mrs. Hellman, president, Vic Dupuis, vice-president, Ray Stull, secretary, Donna Rich, and treasurer, Keith Martin. Do you remember we were the first class to reach the peak in selling magazines and we sold stationery, too. Born salesmanship! they all said. Then in a blast of whirlwind excitement of having our class rings to be proud of, we gave our play, A Case of Springtime QYou didn't miss it, did you? It was tops!!J Then in the grand finale we waved goodbye and good luck to the seniors of '51 with a colossal banquet. SCENE IV The setting is the same, the lessons as hard, the grades as low, students and teachL ers just one year older, but all is different! This year is OURS-the annual, school paper, and the bookstore. We are the ones that the freshies are in bewilderment of, we are the ones the sophomores look up to, we are the ones that the juniors look to for their example. Electing officers for the last short terms we chose as president, Kent Overholser, vice-president, Mary jo Dusek, secretary, Carolyn Parcell, and' treasurer, Joanne Williams, with a bouquet of red roses to Mrs. Hellman sponsoring us after two years of anxiety, worry, and understanding for each of us. With rushing commotion we gave our play, The Baby Sitter and we celebrated its success with a hayride and with its laughter still ringing in our ears we competed with the freshies in selling plaques. CSh! with blushing faces we're keeping the results a secret.J Pictures, name cards, invitations kept us hustling seniors in a rush and haze ofexcitement. Then toasting us elders the jubilant juniors gave us a memor- able banquet. The year drew to a close with the laughter, fun and delightful thrills of our trip to Washington,- D. C. All through the year, the constant complaint of studies echoed the halls, along with the struggles, worry and hours spent on exams. But, we all had to admit that it was Worth it on May 24-COMMENCEMENT NIGHT. With diplomas in our hands and with tear-stained eyes, We turned toward the future with bright hopes, leaving a growing Concord High behind, thankful for the education we have gained, the teachers we have known, the friends we have made, the laughter and the fun we have shared together.
