Senior Closs History In 1942 we entered high school and started preparing ourselves for the future. We elected Mr. Showalter for our sponsor, Carl Reiner, presidentg Richard Howard, vice-president, and Bernadine Everest, secretary and treasurer. We were formally initiated into high school by the sophomores in October and gave them a return party in November, thus ending our freshman year. The following year we selected Mr. McCuen for our sponsorg Carl Reiner, presidentg Junior Shafer, vice' president, and Bernadine Everest, secretary and treasurer. We were sorry we had to discontinue initiations due to the increasing enrollment of classes. We started on our third year by selecting Miss Hartzler for our sponsor, Bob Troyer, president, Bernadine Everest, vicefpresidentg Irene Kenaga, secretary, and Joyce Love, treasurer. We had several skating parties that were successful aridalso presented a three act comedy entitled Meet the Folks. We ended our junior year by giving a banquetifhonoring the seniors, April 27th, at Hotel Elkhart. We began our last year by electing Mrs. Fisher as our sponsor, Bob Troyer, presidentg Carl Reiner, vice' presidentg Irene Kenaga, secretaryg and Joyce Love, treasurer. We were very sorry that our secretary, Irene Ke' naga, had to leave us. Her place was taken by Carol Herrli. In December we presented a three act comedy, Nothing to Lose. As we come to the end of our high school years we all hope to follow our class motto FORGET THE PAST, WORK HARD IN THE PRESENT, PREPARE FOR THE FUTURE. 9 I Carol Herrli. Citizenship The citizenship award was given this year to Carol Herrli and Tom Christian for their work done during their four years of high school. To receive this award they should be able to pass the following tests: 1. A good Concord Citizen is loyal to his school, his fellow students, and his class. 2. A good Concord Citizen is cofoperative. 3. A good Concord Citizen is courteous. 4. A good Conoord Citizen is courageous. 5. A good Concord Citizen is popular with his class' mates, members of other classes, and members of the faculty. 6. A good Concord Citizen is fair. 7. A good Concord Citizen has many interests.
