FOREWCRD Through these doors, we enter for the first time the world of intellectual, social and emotional ma- turity. As freshmen, we are naively aware of the problems and obstacles of life which face us as we prepare to meet the challenges of the demanding fu- ture. We step through the doors of Concord College ready to be molded into responsible citizens, capable parents, and efficient and knowing leaders of com- munity and society. Within four years these goals are readily obtainable. Through the guidance of pro- fessors, administrators, directors, friends and our own self-determination, we are guided to the door of intellectual maturity. These educators not only im- part to us a vast store of knowledge, but they also aid us in finding ourselves through literature, the sciences, the fine arts, also they broaden and deepen our thirst for knowledge and understanding of life. Through the doors of the social activities of Con- cord, administrators guide us in our development as socially competent young adults. The dances, activi- ties, and opportunities for fellowship all help lead us further on the road to social maturity. Whenever per- sonal problems arise in our lives, there are always those to whom we can turn for guidance such as housemothers, the deans of men and women, and college personnel. They guide us through the door of emotional stability. By the time we step through the door leading to graduation, we have been molded into prepared, educated, and useful citizens of the world. The many doors of Concord have opened to us a brand new life of occupational productiveness, useful citizenry, and personal achievement.
