Another facet of the Music Department is the Choir, a small group of girls particularly interested in music who meet faithfully once a Week with Miss Loring. The Choir has worked on a repertoire of 16th Century songs. The Ensemble meets with Mr. Brown once a week. A special vote of thanks should go to Miss Loring, for her inspiring leadership, and to Connie, for her amazing efficiency. Separately, both choruses had a full schedule of entertainment. The Flats sang with Groton in November, Andover in February and closed their choral season by entertaining Brooks in April. The Sharps performed with the Bel- mont Hill Glee Club in january, and were hostesses to Exeter in March. In addition, each chorus gave a separate Christmas Concert in the Middlesex Chapel, singing the Bach B Minor Mass, our major accomplishment of the year. J ABBERWO-CKS V. White, C. Adams, C. Wells, A. As a result of the large number of participants, Glee Club was this year divided into two sections, the Sharps , and the Flats , Naturally these labels are not intended to reflect on the quality of our performances. The convenience resulting from working with a smaller group has given us many concerts and dances. In November, both choruses felt particularly honored to sing in -Sanders Theater with the Radcliffe Choral Society, and the evening was a tremendous success. The entire school also joined in singing its traditional concert with Middlesex and Concord High School in the Concord Armory at the close of the school year.

While it was created to give recog- nition to the outstanding literary works of the school, it also serves as a school newspaper, reporting and reflecting school life. The formation of the new art depart- ment provides those interested in photog- raphy or drawing with an opportunity to contribute their talent. The Chameleon sponsored a widely-publicized literary con- test based on the quotation from john Donne, No man is an island ..., which was won by Miphi Brooks. Much of the credit for the Chame- leon's excellence this past year has been due to the guidance of Miss Mendenhall, our faculty advisor, and the efiicient lead- ership of Marge Reynolds.
