After We Fell First there is total darkness. Then suddenly jum- bled thoughts, mixed emotions, people in black and white scatter across an empty plane. From the depths of the darkness appears a man in grey. Who is this man? What does he want? He sits and begins to talk. As he explains his life you suddenly realize you're inside his mind. You're with all of his thoughts of past, present and future. You watch as he explains his goods, his bads, his rights and his wrongs. You feel pity and sorrow and even anger for him, but can you help him? This of course comes from only one man. His name is Arthur Miller, and his play is entitled After the Fall. lt is a very intricate and deep play. lt required a very large cast. Many people tried out. Then the cast was chosen. It was a cast of new faces and old. For some it would be their first big shot. For others it would be the dream they had been waiting for. In the weeks before the play the actors and actresses would go through confusion, frustration, mental strain and even physical pain. Many of the group became closer and others just drifted further. As for cast unity, it was lacking. ln the end though, everything came together. Emotions ran high and low. Everything just fell into place as one man, Quentin, tries to tell you about his problem of his life. Should he get remarried for a third time? Would he destroy his relationships? Was it his mother's fault? Was it his fault that his friend killed himself? Would he realize his mistakes? ln the end you know that he does realize what he did wrong. But still you wonder if you helped him get it off his chest. P.S. Yes, you helped!
