e- ,- i .. ff- I I Ji 8 nuff uf fl . s The Ultimate Squad I don't believe how well this year went. lt's like a dream come true. It was a building year for the Conant Charrelles because we had so many new girls on the squad. You would never be able to tell. l have never seen such determined working girls. The squad set goals for us to achieve. Our first goal was to become close friends. Camp helped us in many ways in that department with our famous songs, lt's Not Funny , You Talk Too Much , and last but not least lf l Were Not A Pom-Pon Girl . After camp we ended up being the closest squad ever. We were a second family. We not only knew how to work with each other, but we also knew how to have fun with each other. We had a fun and fulfilling season, but that wasn't enough for us. We wanted to compete, but didn't want to feel pressured about winning or have a fight like previous years. We decided we could handle it, so off we went. We were going to strut our stuff. The result was unbelievable. The 1985-1986 Char- relle Squad went down in history for placing second and qualifying for state. We didn't get our trophy or go to state because of a technicality. But that didn't bring down the Conant Charrelles because we accom- plished more than we ever expected, a second family and a second at the state qualifying competition. A special thanks to the other captain, Kathy Bunting, or should I say my right hand. This year couldn't have gone as well without her. I would also like to thank our coaches Mrs. Millin and Ms. Miller who are like two big sisters to the squad. We love them with all our hearts. But most of all, I would like to thank all 36 of the Charrelles for the best year of my life. Love, Melissa Kopke fcaptainb Charrelles Front Row: Melissa Kopke, Kathy Bunting.
