Class Hlstory The Semor Class of '59 can boast of havmg one thmg no other class before us has had, a httle man who calls hlmself Professor Peepers Durmg the past fom' years om' lrttle frrend has wandered through the halls on many occasions, always unobserved, watchmg the Semors and talang notes The followmg lnstory 15 based on notes compiled by the Inv1s1ble Professor Peepers In the fall of '55 Professor Peepers watched a class of 68 students start 113 long, hard struggle on the journey to far away 1959 Our advrsers for the year were Mr Duane Rosendahl and Mr John Steward Wmth then- gurdance we elected these class officers Glorla Fortuna, Presldent, Larry McCarthey, V1ce Preszdent, Marcia Seelman Secretary, Susan Smrth, Treasmer, and Rose Meyer, Student Councll Representatrve Then we buszed ourselves wzth more rmportant matters, such as sellmg pen sets and havmg a roller skatmg party to rarse money for our treasury All too soon the school year ended In the fall of '56 the sophomores conslsted of 72 students who were more sure of themselves For session room our class, bemg large, was d.1V1d9d mto two groups, and Profesor Peepers had to dodge back and forth each day trymg to keep track of all of us Our advrsers were Mr Charles Woodbrxdge and Mr james DeW1tt Our class offrcers were Dale Moore, Preszdent, Karmen Dejong, V1ce Preszdent, Marc1a Seelman, Secretary, Glona Fortmma and Susan Smxth, Treasurers and Ellen Dalman, Student Councll Representatlve Professor Peepers fell and bnused hrmself badly at one of our many roller skating partles and nearly froze lumself at om' hayndes The class also had dances after games and noon day sales to raxse money In '57 Professor Peepers had only 61 students to watch Our advlsers were Mr DeW1tt, Mrs Adell Snyder, and Mr Woodbndge Flrst on the agenda was to elect OfflC6l'S who were Kelth Kmney, Presrdent, Scott McKay, V1ce Pres1dent, Rose Meyer, Secretary, Glona Fortuna, Treasurer, an Shlrley Dondzzla, Student Councll Represenmtxve Poor 1l'l.VlS1b18 Professor Peepers' He saw us through the followmg events choosmg of class rmgs from Josten Co m late September and the nngs' arrrval m December, the Prom on November nmth wlth the theme Heaven On Earth , e Jumor Play on March twenty elghth ent1t1ed Let Me talld' , the jumor-Senxor banquet on May fxfth wlth the theme Moments To Remember , a spaghetu supper, and the sellmg of class pms At the end of the school year Professor Peepers was happy for summer vacatron rest before startmg the busy antrcrpated Semor Year Our Sen1or Class contamed 58 students, so he crossed three more off hrs jumor class roll Mrs Snyder and Mr DeW1tt were our class 3dV1S6l'S Class Off-ICEIS were Scott McKay, Presldent B1ll Koert, Vxce Presldent, Marcla Seelman, Secretary, Glorla Fortuna, Treasurer, and Shlrley Dondzlla and Kerth Kmney, Student Councll Represenizatwes Betty Kremers was the eff1c1ent Edxtor In Ch1ef of our 1959 Hrlrte, and Marcxa Seelman 113 busy Busmess Manager The Semor Play was Here Comes Charl1e and was grven on two mghis, December third and fo1n'th Professor Peepers exchanged graduatron plctures wlth all of us 1n December I must laugh each trme I see hrs mvrsrble portralt The class sold class pms, candy, and all occasron cards, to help ralse money for the class tnp to New York In Chma Town we lost our beloved Professor Peepers m the Temple and kept our tour waltmg hom's before locatmg lum learnmg to eat w1th chop-stlcls Our Semor Tr1p has left many memones that wlll go happily wlth us through the years At last, but not least graduatronl Our dear professor, worrred to a frazzle and exhausted by four long years of 3Ct1V'.l.t1eS, hobbled to graduatlon Wlth Carol Clark, our shorty' The long, hard struggle to '59 now seems very short, but we shall all cherrsh our happy years at C P I-I S Remlmscmg Carole Lapp 18 ,f 0 .. ..
