COIVIIVIANDING OFFI ER 1 Captain Robert K. Ripley Captain Robert K. RIPLEY of Kalispell, Montana, graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1949, then served aboard USS R. L. WILSON IDDE-8472 and USS NEWPORT NEWS CCA-1482. In 1956, he served as Commanding Officer of USS CHITTENDEN COUNTY ILST-5612 and, in 1958 as Executive Officer of USS BARTON IDD-7721. In 1963 he began a two year tour as Commanding Officer of USS WEISS IAPD-1351. In 1957 Captain RIPLEY earned a Masters Degree in Education from Stanford University, and in 1965 he attended the British Joint Service Staff College. He has served as Operations briefer for the Chief of Naval Operations, and has served several tours with the Joint Chiefs of Staff, including Executive Assistant to the Deputy Director, and Executive Assistant to the Vice Direc- tor, Joint Staff, Joint Chiefs of Staff. C-2PlaiH RIPLEY is married to the former Martha VAN PATTEN of Norfolk, Virginia. They have two sons and one daughter.

EXECUTIVE OFFICER Lieutenant Commander Charles C. Stewart Lieutenant Commander Charles C. STEWART, of Piedmont, South Carolina, entered the Navy in 1943. He achieved the rate of Sonarman Chief before attending the Naval Officer Candidate School in 1956. ' During his naval career, LCDR STEWART has served aboard USS WALDRON IDD-6991, USS KLEINSMITH IAPD-1341, USS RICH IDDE-8201, USS AULT IDD-6981, as Executive Officer ofthe USS ADROIT CMSO-5091 and USS TERREBONNE PARISH K LST-11561, and as Commanding Officer of USS POLASKI COUNTY fLST41088j. In addition, he has served several tours of duty in Key West, Florida at the U.S. Fleet Sonar School and the Key West Test and Evaluation Detachment. Prior to reporting to COMSTOCK LCDR STEWART served with the U.S. Military Advisory Group, Buenos Aires, Argentina .LCDR STEWART is married to the former Myra HENDRIX Of J2CkS0I1Vil16, Flflffda- They have one son, - - - -2- W
