Carol DeVries Back Row: Sherry Anderson, Pam Davan, Connie Thomas, Joy Watts, and Becky Carlson The 1985-86 volleyball season will go down in history as the greatest season in Comstock sports. The volleyball team not only won the Wolverine Conference Cham- pionship, but won the District, Regional and STATE championships. The volleyball team became the first team in Comstock history to win a State Championship. The season was not always easy and was not without losses, but the tremendous feeling of family among team members and a never give up attitude carried the team to the top of the volleyball mountain. The state championship came with a semi-final victory over number five ranked Madison Heights, 15-10, 15-9, followed by the state championship victory over number one ranked Forest Hills Central, 15-9, 15-10. There will be other teams that win state championships at Comstock, but this team will always be remembered as the FIRST! Members of the team were Becky Carl- son, Connie Thomas, Joy Watts, Sherry Anderson, Pam Davan, Diane Carlson, Sa- brina Blanks, Kathy Jackson, Jan Evans and Carol DeVries. Manager was Tracy King and the coach was Jeff Borr. 44 state finals volleyball match. The tape was played during both lunch hours the Monday after the big win.
