Seniors, Randy Derksen and Mark VandeWouwer led the thinclads as 1 and 2 men, but the distances between them and the rest of the squad were just too great to make up. However, there are better days ahead for the Colts as a fine group of young sophomores including Mike Myers, Francis Osorno, Steve Davis, Neil Gleason and Rog Pozeznik show great promise. Junior Dave Evans will be back to lend a hand as will freshmen Mike Page and Fred Corbus. Lost via the graduation route besides Derksen were Steve Jackson, Royce Rollins and Virginia Davis. Though the seniors will be missed, the returning Colts could turn the season around with a solid summer of running behind them. Good luck to the seniors and good running to the returnees. RUN! RUN! RUN!! Upper - Virginia Davis finishes another grueling 3 miles and proves once again that the dedicated athlete can succeed. However, this is only a part of the responsibilities of our fire department. The extreme high cost of replacing building and property, and the hazards to life from fire in our present day living place great emphasis on fire prevention and safety. Fire prevention requires the publicizing of worthwhile information to the Comstock community to enable our residents to eliminate and avoid hazards in our homes, in our schools, in our churches, and in our place of occupation. We welcome the opportunity to assist in providing this information to our citizens. We hope it may help to prevent a fire or tragedy by pointing out the many sources of danger . . . 180 The Yearbook class would like to thank Mrs. Smith for all the help that she gave to each person in the class, and we all wish her the best of luck in Tucson, Arizona where she will be living.
