Vice Principals Velta Jones Student Activities and Student Affairs Working in the capacity of Vice Principal of Student Activities and Student Affairs is Mrs. Velta Jones, who is in charge of all student activities, such as student government, homecoming activities, and assemblies. Student Affairs is concerned with the financial aspects, such as budgeting and check writing. f S X . ,Q 0 bi - f Cheryl Hiland Instruction and Curriculum Among Mrs. Cheryl Hiland's duties as Vice Principal of Instruction and Curriculum are the development of school reading programs, and staff in-service. Working closely with each department, Mrs. Hiland coordinated all curriculum and instruction programs, schedules on-site classes and home teaching, and orders school books. D. -rw I. A , ww! Lg f . X . 1' A -A ZH A Gordon S. Orr Athletics Veteran Educator Mr. Gordon S. Orr is Compton High's Vice Principal of Athletics. He is responsible for maintaining a high level of competition in the athletic program. He also handles disciplinary problems as referred, carries out duties assigned by the Principal, and evaluates the faculty as directed. In addition, Mr. Orr works closely with the Director of Student Affairs. ,r,,.,. ff -at Leatrice Jones Dean of Students A highly visible figure throughout the Tarbabe campus. and rightly so, is Dean of Students Mrs. Leatrice Jones. In her capacity as Dean, Mrs. Jones is over attendance, and overt disciplinary problems of all students on campus, works hand in hand with security, and assists the Principal when designated.
