This inquisitive fellow put before poor John such stumbling blocks as: Now who was our student body president? What was that Spanish teacher's name we had so much fun with? Who were some of the members of that club we were in? Who were the song and yell leaders? Now what's her name, you know, she was on the drill team? Who quarter- backed our terrific football team? Do you remember, John? Was John able to answer these questions? Yes. He left the room, and as he re-entered, John's friend noticed that he was carrying a colorful book of blue and grey. What's that? John's friend questioned. What eIse, answered John, my El Campanile. Now please repeat those ques- tions. The Tom Hughes .. Marjorie Edmunds ... Jack D. Taylor .... Barbara McCracken .. We also realize that although our part in The production of This volume is completed, The book will live. Since our memories alone are incapable of holding all The aspects of The 1955-56 school year, the book will live. The book will live until iT is consumed by some hungry old Trunk stuck in a far corner of an attic. Even Then The book is not dead. While trapped in This dark and musty old prison iT attains a Terrific amount of potential energy, which, when re-opened, bursts out in a maze of colorful and precious memories. A book which has required so much attention, Time, and effort of both The El Companile staff and art staff, must live, in all fairness To us. From the beginning layouts up to this finished product which you now hold, numerousprob- lems arose which never would have been solved without the guidance of Mrs. Viola Bagwell. When in need of a push, Mrs. Bagwell was always There to give us the push we needed To meet the all important deadlines.
