FOREWORD THE PURPOSE OF THIS BOOK IS FOUR-FOLD: FIRST, It ties everything that is dear to the hearts of the students of Compton High into one package, a Blue and Grey package, the El Companile, the Story of the Chimes. SECOND, it preserves from the very first year the Alma Mater that has already found a special spot in the hearts of all at Compton High, a spot that will enlarge as the years pass. THIRD, it has invaded every department on campus to picture the highlights of events that ore, even today, in the past and will live only in memories and in the pages of this book.
