Memorial Day Nursery Mrs. Nancy lTeacher-Coordinatorl enroute to one of her training stations. 60 The Home Economics Cooperative is the most recent of the cooperative education courses to be made available to eleventh and twelfth grade students. This program has as its aim: to give the young adult the opportunity to seek, obtain and advance in a position of employment related to home economics. The student achieves this aim through supervised on-the-job training and related class- room instruction. Small classes with expended visitation time allowed to the teacher-coordinator achieve the close relationship between school, community and home considered by many to be one of the most outstanding features of the program. Home economics training areas in which students may be employed are food service, child care, housekeeping management, floral design, home-furnishings, bridal con- sultant and fabricacoordinator. Experience gained from this type of program has proven to give students know- ledge and skills which help them throughout all of life. EXTREME LEFT: Mrs. Nancy Steele, Coordinator-Teacher.
