Blakely NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY cpm 'In the five years since it received its charter. the National Honor Society Chapter of Commonwealth High School has adhered to the quali- fications set forth by the National Council: Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character. Thus, membership is very selective, and the Society brings together the most outstanding students in the school. The Chapter endeavors to promote high scholastic attainment not only among its members, but among all the students of the school. This year, the Chapter demonstrated its service to the community and society by supporting the Voluntary Library League, initiating a tutor- ing service, and adopting a Korean orphan. Financial support for the orphan was guaranteed by successful tea and lemonade sales. The NHS of Commonwealth High School deserves full praise for an extremely productive year. The 1968 COMET is a melting pot of everything that happened at CHS this year. The COMET was published from hard work, with deadlines to meet, pictures to take and develop, copy to write, and all the things that go hand in hand with producing a yearbook. Many week- ends at Barbara's house were spent sorting through stacks of pictures, piles of papers, and boxes of little goodies needed to produce a successful yearbook.
