In all sincerity l must say that I do not envy you the world into which you are graduating. I do however, envy you your youth and energy and I hope that you will put them to work to make the earth a better, more livable, happier place than it seens to be now. You are going out into a world of considerable confusion. At no time in history have people been so affluent, at least in our society, and have they had so many tools to make their daily chores easier, but still it can be said that this is perhaps one of the unhappiest periods in all of the time of man. How to retain the ideals and the standards that have grown with the ages in the face of a materialistic and existentialist society has proven to be more than man can contend with. This adjustment between philosophies is your job and about all I can say is that your teachers have worked diligently to give you the ideas and the skills to work with, but it will be up to you to apply them to the vast task that confronts you. I wish you luck. Herbert E. Warfel
