Class H iszfoyf The history of the class of '66 emerged in Sept. of '62 when the fall term of the ninth grade began. Though the year was tedious, we were spirited Freshmen showing our endless confidence by our first stride in gaining ninth grade class rings. True, we did not have a graduation, but our class trip to Treasure Island made up for it. Of course we will never forget the fabulous Skit Night presented that year, nor the Sham -Rock Shimmy and the usual cake sales given by our headstrong class. Our Sophomore year was more exciting than our Freshman year. With Allan Keene heading us as president, the year was full of activities, including an Athletic Banquet, uproaring campaigns and Career Day. Of all the years our class has been through together, the one most treasured and remembered was our Junior year. Under the leadership of our president, Norma Lopez, we held an unforgettable Barn Dance, in which we raised enough money for the Prom. Once again class rings were ordered, and black stones marked our emblem of '66, The Junior class was proud tofhaveone of their classmates achieve the title of Miss Commonwealth '65. lt was an unforgettable night for all of us, especially for Queen Jan West. Sneak Day proved itself a vital success, due to die wonderful compatability of Senior -junior feeling. And of course, our Prom, held at the Caribe Hilton, will always be one of our most treasured nights . Now, finally reaching our goal, it was our endeavor to make the most of our Senior year. Bruce Borish and Mrs. Rauchle made all our hardships seem easy. Sneak Day, dances, the Carnival, the Prom and graduation were planned strate- gically and willingly. Many new ideas were introduced, but our old ideas, such as friendliness, team -work, and spirit were not left behind. As the pages of the history of our class closes, memories live on and the' class of '66 graduates proudly and graciously. But our minds will carry on the ideals that only Commonwealth could give us. And so, fellow classmates, as the door of high school closes, our memories and thoughts will open the lock to new vic- tories that await us. I I6
