Those of us who have long since experienced the thrill of Coinmencemeut XYeek recall with what confidence we looked into the future and saw ourselves reaching some height in our chosen vocation. How we reveled in the wonders of youth! XYhat we could not see were the hardships and disappointments that must be ours before we should reach the coveted goal. Some- where along our path, however. when, perhaps our courage would have failed us, the light of faith, hope, and love was kindled from the torch of a fellow traveler whose life h. ll ' 'Q A ' ' ' ' ' at Jeen sw cettned by chastening cares and trialsg and our gloomy way was made bright.
