PROPHECY fContinuedJ Patsy Osteen, the poor old soul, is an old maid. She lives alone with her twenty-four cats. They say that poor Reba Bowen is just about as bad. She raises ducks and names every one after her old boy friend, Jake. Sunday we went to church, and guess who was the preacher ? It was Frankie Ward. Miriam Barnard was the pianist, choir director ,- and one- girl choir. After Church, we rode out to the biggest drive-in restaurant in town, Your House. -It is owned by William Tice and his wife, the former Lou Wasden. The man who came to clean our windshield with champagne and give us our gold-plated toothpicks was none other than Michael Maner. While we were eating, a horn honked and we turned to see Beverly Durden and her new husband. They make a beautiful couple. He is five feet tall. Oh well, there are always stilts. As we were leaving thedrive-in we had a collision, and who do you think was in the other car ? It was Brad Waddell in a hotrod. He owns so many now that he just throws them away when he wrecks them. You know poor old Arnold Bacon is Brad's handyman. He just runs around picking up arms and legs when there is an accident. Well to make a long story short, we all went down to the jailhouse, where the chief, Bob Bryant ordered his cell keeper, Clarence Boyd, to put Brad in jail: being as it was his fiftieth offense. Just guess who was in the cell next to Brad? lt was none other than Ed Hagin. He really hadn't done anything, but he said it was just so comfortable there. We felt so sorry for the poor boys that we called the Mayor, who is Ed Harvey: and after talking it over with some of his alder- men, James Alford, James Brown, Raiford Cowart, and 'J. L. Curry, he agreed to issue a pardon. Gretchen Davis and Joyce Boyles are now top-notch secretaries for big lawyers. Gretchen works for Jesse Edenfield, and Joyce works for Freddie Dixon. So many of the girls are in Hollywood and New York now. Linda Durrence is a millionaire bubble dancer: Shirley Jackson, Hilda Jones, and Margaret Oglesby are members of the chorus for M.G.M.: and Edwina Walden is a famous hula dancer. Sarah Carter is being starred as the No. l child start Cat 275, and Mary Lois Sorrow has put Judy Canova out of business. Hollywood's top producer is Jack Adams, who, along with his lovely wife, Dot Moody, owns millions. They say the greatest opers singers of all time are LeVora Harley and Annette Scott. Marion Wood is now playing the piano with the Metro- politan Symphony Orchestra. Margie Lewis, Lavora Ruis, and Josie Mae Lariscy are models for Powere Model Agency. The designer for the agency is Leonard Jordan. Just imagine what a fine husband he must make.

ilk 97146-ef Dear Carole: Goodness it's been a long time since I have seen you! How are you doing with your six boys ? I metr an old friend of ours the other day, and guess who it was-- Mary Frances Hadden. The first thing she wanted to know was, What has happened to Carole Chafin'? I told her that you were Mrs. Williams and that you and your husband and six boys were living in the Fiji Islands. I guess you would like to know what has happened to your old friends during the ten years you have been away from civilization. You know Mary is teaching shorthand at Commercial now. They say she is better than Mrs Martha G. Eveylene Bowen fFulcherJ is just about the richest woman in town. It seems her husband invented a tonic to make short people grow taller and got plumb rich off of it. Peggy Averet and Betty Quarterman almost went broke buying tonic, but they got their rewardlg for they are now 6 ft. tall girls with Ringling Bros. Circus. Speaking of circuses, you remember Joe Page. He is acting as a replacement for Gargantua. He really makes a good one too. You know Larry Sapp is president of the First National Bank, Ray Hatfield is making thousands of records a week of that old song It's in the Book , and Lynford Hadwin owns car lots all over the country. My, didn't they go separate ways ? We dropped in at Commercial the other day and guess who is principal? Fritz Harrison. They had to build a special desk and chair for him, because he now weighs 300 pounds. When we entered his office, he was screaming at the coach, who is Robert White, because the football team had lost one game during the season. Bob was so mad that he would have quit if it had not been for his wife, Marie Miles White, and their little Miles. We saw Lescoe Bourne while we were there. He is coaching the track team. He told us that Joyce Scott had been coach of the girls' basketball team, but that some millionaire had swept her off of her feet. You remember Earline Futch and Barbara Howell. They are both famous painters now. Earline did teach for a while. Jimmie King is teaching bookkeeping now. The Poor boy just couldn't stand that short- hand any longer so he switched to bookkeeping. If there was ever a Mr. Caterisan it's Jimmie. Ronnie Allen is teaching the band and Margie DeLoach is teaching history. It surely looks like the graduates took over the old school.

PROPHECY fContinuedj You know, I keep pretty busy with school work with these children of mine. The other day I went to a P.T.A. meeting, and the president was Billie Wade Chandler KHallJ. They say she has a child in every grade. The secretary of the P.T.A. was Joan Chester. She always did make a good one. The guest speaker was James Cole, who is quite an authority on physiology. You know he was always so quiet and distinguished. We are having state elections next month. Esther Courson is run- ning for governor. Lila Harris is her campaign manager. You know Georgia has an all woman government now. Barbara McKay is the re- tiring governor. Darlene Medlock is the Attourney General. The senators from Georgia now are Beurchael Nichols and Derrell Sapp. Quite a number of our old friends have entered the medical pro- fession. Carlos 'Iurner is a dentistg Dot Williams, Noelene Raiford, and Frankalene Johns are still trying to get out of nursing schoolg and Frankalene Johns are still trying to get out of nursing school, and William Smith was a doctor, but when he took out a lady 's liver instead of her appendix, the medical profession decided they did not need him any more. We have quite a few businessmen and women among our old friends too. Gretta Crosby is private secretary to the president of the Central of Georgia Railway, who is Bobby Dooley. Irmogene Bland is an account- ant for Leopold Adler, Barbara Canady is buyer for Morris Levy, Shirley Evans works for Hogans, and Emilie Franklin owns every theater in town. Gerry Deason is now owner and manager of the Teen Shop. Do you remember Theresa Cloud? She is playing a bass fiddle in a symphony orchestra. By the way, she plays with her toes. Hugh Helmy and Herbert Horton are playing professional baseball and Ed Corley is playing professional football. William Harrell holds the heavyweight championship of the world. He has a fine case of cauli- flower ears. Earl Godbee is his manager. Our old friend Bobby Over- street got so sad when his girl. left him that he jumped in the ocean and swam all the way to Alaska The poor boy broke all records but wouldn't come home to get his trophy. Charles Nettis is now a pilot for the J.D. Latzak Air Lines, Marion Johnson is an airplane mechanic, and Deron Moore and Iona Lanigan are airline Hostesses. Waymon Lee is a weatherman -- the poor guy. Everyone blames him for the weather. We just recently held the contest for Miss America. Ann Hallford was chosen Miss America. Miss Florida was Phyllis Lyons, Miss South Carolina was Barbara Zipperer, and Miss North Carolina was Deloris Niver. Mrs. America was none other than the former Shirley McCoy.
