I explained that it was the Old Maid's Heaven run by Anita Wilson. It seems that Marie Consos and Tresa Porter are the star borders. Marie was leaning out of the window yelling at the peanut man, who was Rudy Gould. The poor man was having a fit, because the organ grinder, Earl McTier, had let his monkey, Thomas Marshall get into his peanuts. Of course, Vir- ginia Blackwell is a pretty big shot, being the owner of the Union Bag. Speaking of big shots, I have a new neighbor who is so rich that she takes baths in milk. Her name is Viola Wasson. I know you remember Honey Spivey. She was a pretty wealthy woman until someone took the stretch out of her elastic industry. Now the poor girl shines shoes for a living. I guess she would starve to death if it were not for her old pal, Mary Nell Harrell, who takes her a can of beans every week. Mary Nell is a wealthy stock broker now and -------- Sniff, sniff, Oh! Oh! I smell something burning. I think Junior is setting the kitchen table on fire again. Pd better close for now. Enclosed are some recipies for fixing pineapples and cocoanuts.
