Belden did some enthusias D exceptionally brilliant work forour side, and it was mainly .through his efforts that Adelphi did not succeed in rolling up a much higher score than they did. At the end of the first half, Adelphi led by but one point, and not until the second half was nearly over did they get far in the lead. QP December 11, at the Fourteenth Regiment lndoor Games, a half-mile re- lay team, representing Commercial, took second place from 'lownsend Harris by two yards. In the one-mile invitation relay race for Brooklyn high schools, at the athletic games of the Second Naval Battalion, held at their armory on December 19 relay team of Commercial took third place. Erasmus Hall was first, defeat- ing Manual Training by '15 yards, Ziegler, Schumm, Friedlander and Wil- liams were the members of our quartet, , 3. - Several of the members of our track team entered in the 3M-mile cross-coun- try run held at Northport on Saturday, December 23. They made a good show- ing, Ziegler coming in an easy third, Wfeise tieing with a Northport runner for fourth place, while Terry and McCreedy secured sixth and seventh places respec- tively. The time for the course was 17 :23 4!5. Athletic Association. On Monday, December 1-l, the Athletic Association met in the Auditorium. Sev- eral new conditions for the awarding of Cs were read. but no action was taken. The tryouts in the P. S. A. L. Badge contest for high school students were held in the gymnasium, on the afternoon of December 1-1, 15, and 16. A large number of boys went out for the contest. The l,eague rules require the 220-5'H1'd dash to he run in 30 U5 seconds, nine pull ups, and a high jump of 4 feet, 4 inches. Most of the fellows did the chinuing and running with ease, but 21 good many fell down on the high lumll' ing. Nr.
