STACK A IN MEMORIAM JAMES J. HARRINGTON November 22, 1905 - February 8, 1967 The students of the High School of Commerce will greatly miss Mr. James J. Harrington, who died February 8, 1967. Mr. Harrington taught typing at Commerce from 1958 until 1967, and his death was indeed a terrible shock and a tremendous loss to his family and all of us at the High School of Com- merce. Mr. Harrington was graduated from American International College in 1945 with a B.S. Degree. In 1947 he secured from Springfield College his Masters Degree in Education. From 1945-46, he taught business subjects at Chicopee High School. JUN Fo r eight years, from 1950-58, Mr. Harrington took great pride in teaching the general auxiliary class at Chestnut Junior High School. He then came to Commerce, where he taught until this year. Mr. Harrington leaves his wife Sally and three children. We at the High School of Commerce will always remember Mr. Harrington not only as a wonderful teacher, but also as a kind of loving individual. Certainly one who derived such pleasure as he did through helping the young and needy must indeed possess much patience and understanding. Mr. Harring- ton always loved children. We will always love him. S 1967

IN DEDICATION TO MR. RAYMOND ELLISON This year the High School of Commerce salutes Mr. Raymond H. Ellison who has recently completed ten years as adviser to the Caduceus Yearbook Staff. His guidance has proved invaluable in helping his stu- dents to create the annual yearbook, Caduceus. Having begun his advising career in 1957, Mr. Ellison has been highly praised by his immediate supervisors for doing an “excellent and outstanding” job. Mr. Ellison’s tenure as adviser was culminated last year when the High School of Commerce yearbook received a first-class rating. Those who worked on the yearbook staff are well aware of the in- valuable assistance they obtained from Mr. Ellison. There were numer- ous occasions when he gave up much of his leisure time to proofread names or layouts in order to alleviate the burdens of his students. Mr. Ellison was graduated from Clark University in 1942 with an A.B. Degree. In 1948 he secured his A.M. Degree from Brown Uni- versity. After teaching for three years at Milford Preparatory School, Mr. Ellison came to the High School of Commerce in 1955, where he has been teaching English ever since. Mr. Ellison leaves his position in the capable hands of Mr. Thaddeus J. Ciesluk, to whom all the members o f the Caduceus Staff wish the best of luck. The Staff will always remember and appreciate the excellent and invaluable advice which had been bestowed on them by Mr. Ellison.
