HELENE GRIF- FIN, who is a member of the English Depart- ment, attended Fitchburg Teachers’ College (B.S. Ed.) and Springfield Col- lege (M.Ed.). Adviser to the National Honor Soci- ety, Mrs. Griffin enjoys golfing and has a fond- ness for dogs. An English teacher, MR. WAYLAND J. HOLLEY is a graduate of Dart- mouth College ( A.B.) and Northwestern University (M.A.). Mr. Holley helps in the production of Cap- ers (and participates in it). His interests include sports and his children. A graduate of Salem Teachers’ College (B.S. Ed.), MRS. LORRIE- ANN GUMLAW teaches typing. She enjoys knit- ting as a hobby. MR. THOMAS HUR- LEY, a teacher of Eng- lish, attended the Univer- sity of Ottawa. He re- ceived his B.A. and M.Ed. from Our Lady of the Elms. Mr. Hurley is in charge of school publicity and enjoys art, music, fish- ing, and target shooting. MR. GEORGE M. HAR- GREAVES, a retired U‘S. colonel, enjoys sports and music. He attended the University of Maine (BrASw yy MCAS) 2 LaSalle University (L.L.B.), and Springfield College (P. jD))) Mr. Hargreaves teaches world geography. A home economics teach- er MISS ELEANOR HYDE is the Chairman of the Home Economics Department. She is a graduate of Framingham Teachers College (B.S.). 13 “Failure to make up work” is MR. JAMES HAR- RINGTON’s pet peeve. A gtaduate of A.J.C. (B.S .) and of Springfield College (M.E.), he is a teacher of Typing I and II. Mr. Harrington enjoys reading. MR. HAROLD JONES, who teaches machine cal- culation, is also the coor- dinator of our audio-visual aids program and our school photographer. He graduated from Spring- field College (B.S., M. Ed.), and his hobbies are golf, swimming, and tra- vel. A teacher of Modern Problems II and American History, MISS REGINA HENDERSON attended Westfield State College (B.S.) and Springfield College (M.Ed., C.A.G. S.). She is in charge of the senior pictures. Her hobbies include ceramics and traveling. Art is the subject taught by MR. VERLE KING, who graduated from Massachusetts College of Art (B.S.) and Westfield State College (M.Ed.). Mr. King is Art Director for Capers.

The varsity coach of baseball and soccer, he enjoys read- ing, and photography. MR. CHARLES COR- CORAN, who received his A.B. at Rockhurst College and his M.A. at the Uni- versity of Kansas City, is a teacher of English. For his hobby, he enjoys rais- ing and training horses. MR. STANLEY CZECH, who is a teacher of busi- ness math and typing, graduated from Bryant College (B.S.) and Springfield College with a (M.Ed. ) A graduate of Manhattan Gollesese@B:Ss) ae ALG (M.A.), and University of Connecticut (C.A.G.S.) MR. JOSEPH DELLA GUISTINA teaches busi- ness mathematics. He is adviser to the freshman class and enjoys golf as a hobby. A teacher of typewriting, MRS. MADELINE DUREPO studied at Salem Teachers College (B.S.) and A.I.C. (M.A.). In her spare time she en- joys reading and garden- ing. MR. RAYMOND HH. ELLISON, English teacher and school librarian, re- ceived his B.A. at Clark University and his M.A. at Brown University. Mr. Ellison is editorial adviser to the Caduceus staff and also the coach of the boys’ bowling team. MR. WILLIAM FINNE- GAN attended Bridge- water State College and University of Connecticut. A teacher of history, government and eco- nomics, Mr. Finnegan is also adviser to Commerce Patrol. Mr. Finnegan en- joys ice skating and col- lecting political items. MR. MONTE FLAGG is a biology teacher whose pet peeve is unambitious students. He attended Bos- ton University (B.S.Ed.), Springfield College, and University of Massachu- setts. He is the assistant football coach and coach of the junior varsity bas- ketball team. 12 MR. MELVIN GRANT, teacher of college prepara- tory English, attended the University of Massachu- setts (A.B.) and Ameri- can International College (M.A.). He is in charge of Capers, Drama Club, and Spotlight on Youth. Mr. history Finnegan and Mr. teachers divide their attention between the art display and passing traffic. MISS FLORENCE GREENLEAF, one of our physical education teach- ers, also advises the Com- merce cheerleaders and coaches the bowling teams. Miss Greenleaf lists in- sincerity and dishonesty as her pet peeves. She enjoys golf and bowling in her spare time. Smith, both and patrol advisers,

MR. NORMAND LA- FLAMME graduated from Holyoke Junior College (A.A.) and the Univer- sity of Mass. (B.A., M. Ed.). He teaches algebra and geometry. He is a business adviser to Com- metce and a member of the Mathematics Curricu- lum Committee. MR. JOHN MCKAY at- tended Michigan State University and A.I.C., ob- taining a B.S. and M.A. He is a teacher of eco- nomics, government, and American History. Mr. McKay plays golf in his spare time. His one pet peeve is absenteeism. Mr. Cook waits his turn as Mr. Cies- luk goes for a spare. Our faculty men are perennial contenders in the School- A teacher of English, MR. FRANK LANDRY, te- ceived his B.S. from Ply- mouth Teachers College and his M.Ed. from Bos- ton University. MRS. FRANCIS MaA- HAN attended A I.C. (B.S., M.A.) and the Uni- versity of Connecticut. She is Senior Class adviser and teacher of stenography and penmanship. masters Bowling League. MR. BERNARD M. LA- VELLE, teacher of Eng- lish, received his A.B. at Saint Anselm’s College and his M.Ed. at Westfield State. He is adviser to the class of 1966 and enjoys “babysitting’ as a hobby. MRS. MARY ANN MALESTA attended Bos- ton University, where she received her B.S. in Home Economics Education. She teaches Foods I and II. 14 MR. RAYMOND LEM- IEUX is the head of the History Department. Hav- ing attended Bridgeport State Teachers College and the University of Virginia, he teaches American His- tory, geography, and civics. He enjoys bowling and golf. MRS. MARGARET MANNIX, who is an English teacher, graduated from Westfield State Teachers College (BS. Ed.). One of the co-chair- men of the Faculty Social Committee, her hobbies are golf and music. MRS. CATHERINE LEONE, who has been teaching a girls’ auxiliary class, obtained her B.A. degree at New Rochelle College, attended the Uni- versity of Massachusetts, and did graduate work at Columbia University. MR. JOSEPH MAZUR- OWSKI, who is an advi- ser to the Caduceus Busi- ness Staff, is a graduate of ‘A.C. (BSS eNeAme He teaches clerical book- keeping and typing, and enjoys camping in his spare time.
