MACALPINE and CHARLES A. CAMPBELL Witt W. MacaLpINE was born in the south- ernmost end of the Canadas, a town in Elgin county, Ontario — Rodney, situated five miles northwest of Lake Erie. He was educated in the public and high schools of that province, gradu- ating from the Ottawa Normal School. He started in the Ontario ungra ded country schools, and later taught at Elliot Business Col- lege, Toronto, one of Canada’s largest schools. Giving up his position at Elliot, Mr. Macal- pine came to the United States and studied at New York University, Northeastern University. and Zaner’s School in Columbus, Ohio. He came to Springfield in 1909, and began teaching in Commerce when it was only a department in Technical High. He teaches accounting and bookkeeping. ISSUE OF CHARLES A. CAMPBELL was born in Rodney, within ten miles of Mr. Macalpine. He also attended the public and high schools of Ontario, but later graduated from St. Thomas in Rodney. Mr. Campbell began his teaching career in the public schools of London, Ontario, where he instructed in commercial subjects. He later attended a business school in Stratford, and after finishing his course there, he went to Toronto, where he joined Mr. Macalpine, teaching in the Elliot Business College. He came to Springfield one year prior to Mr. Macalpine, and began teaching at Commerce. He is at present the head of the stenographic department.
