Holtsclaw, as well as the twentieth anniversary ol' our school and his leadership of it. Mr. Holtsclaw began his Detroit career at Cass Technical High School, where he was a teacher ol' connnercial subjects and tnatlteinatics. ln I9l2, he was made director ol' the lletroit High School ol Connnerce at Cass, and in lfllts. when il was organized as a separate high school, he became its principal. ln lEl2f5. Mr. lloltsclaw was niade Supervising Principal ol' Clonnnercial Education and continued to serve as principal of the High School of Commerce and East Connnerce High School. ll was also in ISI23 that Mr. Holtsclaw pioneered in the held ol' radio edits cation by delivering an address on business education over Station XVXVI. He has served as President. ol' the Department of Business of the National litlucation Association and ol the National Clonunercial 'l'eachers Federationg he has been active in the business division of the Michigan Education Associa- llllllj he has served as Associate Editor of the Journal of Business Education and written numerous articles lor business ltlZlg2lllllCSQ he is co-author of the textbook, General Business Science . .Xt the present time. Mr. Holtsclaw is not only the principal ol' our school and Supervising Principal of Cloinniercial Education but also Director of the School ol' General Studies of XVavne University where he serves on the cooper- ating faculty. Connnerce teachers and students are indeed fortunate in their opportunity to work and study under his supervision and guidance. liight
