HARPER, B.S., M.A. Superintendent, Resigned Superintendent Mr. Chaffin was Superintendent of Comanche Schools for eleven years before he resigned December 1, 1955, to become B us ine s s Manager of Belton Schools. Under his leadership Comanc he's school plant was improved and expanded, the instructional program was extended, and its standard s raised, His program also led to CHS rn e mbe r s h ip in the Southern Association of Secondary Schools and Col- leges. Mr. Chaffin was succeeded by Mr. Joe W. Harper of Cranfill Gap. Although Mr. Harper has been with the Comanche system only a short time, he has revealed the ability, personality, and initiative that may well mean the beginning of even more progressive improvements in Comanche Schools.
