Seniors not pictured DORIS BARBER ROBEIT HYDORN JIM IOHNSON INDIAN TRIBUNE Modeling School Purchase Made Doris Barber, Mildred Peters and Roberta Morehead announced the purchase of the Hanover School of Modeling. The three women plan to introduce a new style of model- ing to the American public. This will -be the Slink-n-Slump Walk. All three women are graduates from the Hanover school and have stated they have planned many changes for the school. Comment- ing on this, Miss Barber stated, It should be the goal of every girl to walk with a graceful slink or slump. We have studied this from every angle and feel that we now can offer every American girl the chance to obtain this goal. Our method will be to use 100-pound weights balanced on the head in- stead of the conventional book. Salvation Army Presents Awards The Salvation Army's Wally Cagle and Charles Cox awarded the Tin-Foil Circle to Arvella Kulp, Rose Lundquist, and Patsy Mercer last night at the Salvation Army's Booster Banquet. This award is the highest given by the Salvation army and it was the high-light of the evening. Mr. Cox explained that these three women have devoted 25 years to ringing bells on the streets, in addition to performing their other Salvation Army duties. The misses Kulp, Lundquist and Mercer almost swooned as Mr. Ca- gle presented them with the awards. We feel very grateful, but feel we have completed our service in the Salvation Army, the three explained. We are now planning to devote our full time to our fi- ancees and hope to take the trip to the altar in the near future. Alumni .loin Coaching Staff Authorities at Colville High School announced that six alumni will be in the coaching positions at Colville High the ensuing year. Taking charge of the football team will be Larry Barnes as head coach and Maroa Murdoch as his assist- ant. Ray Blier will take over bask- etball duties with Sharon Wilson as assistant coach. Baseball will be 'The Vacuum' Picks Up Dirt Last night I happened to be snooping at the Mambo club ,and who should I see but that wonder- ful, glorious hunk of man-Marv Carter, dining with the new star of stage and opera, Shirley Lee. Could this be Marv's Final Fling? The singing waiter, F35-sq Q15 an- noyed me a. little as he dumped a glass of egg-yolks on my head, but this didn't stop me from see- ing T.V. wrestler Ken Hirsch come in for his nightly glass of milk. Faye Jedel, the glamorous bar- tender, mixed me a new drink, in- vented by Dan Inman, called the Pink Shirt. Just then cheese- cake artist, Janice Grittner came in with steel-industry's boss, Ken Macomber. The two had just seen Bob Hughson's great Kiss and Smell. For the floorshow Fred Sieger sang the new hit, It takes Three to Fox-Trot. He was ac- companied by Louise Schumaker, who also played her famous theme song, Sawdust. My chauffeur, Ron Ogle, interrupted me at that point to take me to a party for the Great Lover Bob Hughson. All the dirt about this tomorrowlll! Doctors Give Report on lQ's Drs. Susan Baker and Donna Wilson gave an. interesting report last night to a group of medical patients at Medical Puddle. The topic of their report was How Im- portant Is An I.Q.? The two doc- tors obtained material for this re- port from their tour of high schools which they just completed. The Colville High School served as headquarters for the doctors dur- ing the tour. After the reports, discussion was held among the patients. Theron Morrow served as discussion lead- er. Under his capable leadership, the group came to the decision that while an I.Q. may be helpful, it certainly is not xessential. They cit- ed themselves as examples to prove this decision. coached by Bob Blenz an dassisted by Sonya Engstrom. This is the first time in Colville history that women coaches have been used, but everyone feels confident that Kil- ler Murdoch, Buckets Wilson, and Slugger Engstrom will be very efficient. Schumaker Book 0n School Life The Dumple Publishing Company announced that it will very shortly release a new book, My Tragedy, written by Louise Schumaker. This book is reported to be the greatest literary achievement of the year. Although it is an autobiography- the plot is rumored to be the most fantastic of any book ever written by an American author. Miss Schumaker, a very gifted pianist, reveals her literary gifts, too. Pres- ently featured at the Mambo club, Miss Schumaker has led a rich and interesting life. The tragedy, with which her book deals, concerns her school life in Colville High School, a tiny school in Eastern Washing- ton. Many shocking things are re- vealed in this latest feature of the Book of the Month Club. Every High School student is urged to read it as soon as possible. Companies Merge Representatives of the Carpenter- Phipps Lingerie Company and Hedrick, Matthews and Hodgson, Inc., went into conference today to discuss the transaction of the Lin- gerie company. It is reported Car- penter and Phipps have made a fortune from their line of Lovely Lady Lingerie and are now plan- ning to go into retirement. Hedrick, Matthews and Hodgson, Inc., have offered S100,000,000 for the business and plan to add a line of Moon- mist negligees. Nada Light ln 'French Line' It was publicly announced in Hollywood toda ythat glamorous star, Nada Light, is being pursued to star in the remake of French Line. Jay Chandler, Dick Foege, and Morly George, famous pro- ducers of such movies as Front Window, Low Midnight, and Went with the B-reeze,' 'are ne- gotiating the contract. Mr. Foege has rewritten the script especially for Miss Light. It has been rumor- ed that she will accept the role only if her personal costume de- signers are included in the con- tract. The designers, T. Davenport, B. Jamieson, G. Johnson, and J. Leavitt, just presented the fashion world with the sensational new fabric, Rip 'n Sew. Volume XII No. 10 May 1, 1980 Colville, Washington Wall Street Five Obtain Patent on 'Dimple Formula' The Big Five of Wall Street, Ashbaugh, Hydorn, Drake, Stifel and Wonch ,announced yesterday that they have taken over the manufacture and production of Hughson's Dimple Formula. They have announced that many new methods will be introduced to the production of this brandnew pro- duct. A new-type container will be the first change, according to Jim Wonch, head of the Big Five. This container will be in the shape of a dimple and will have on it a picture of Bob Hughson, the Great Lover. We feel confident that this change will greatly increase the sales of the magic Hughson's Dimple Formula, Wonch conclud- ed. Lover Hughson Wows Hollywood Last night, at the premiere of Kiss and Smell, a great new Hol- lywood lover was presented to a swoonlng public. Bob I-Iughson charmed everyone during inter- mission as he played the piano by light of a candelabra. His curly hair and dimpled cheeks captivated thousands. Women swooned as he winked and giggled. After the showing of the movie in which he starred, Hughson introduced his be- loved friend and teacher, Mary Demo of Demo's Drama Co. With tears of emotion streaming down his cheeks he told how this cour- ageous woman had discovered him and stood by him during the heartbreaking years of his struggle for stardom. Women in the au- dience were weeping uncontrollably as he finished. Miss Demo collapsed on Mr. Hughson's shoulder at the end of this touching tribute. In a few minutes, however, she re- covered enough to state, I always knew that Bob has what it takes. Even when we were classmates to- gether, I could see his acting qual- ities. Indeed, all Hollywood now recognizes these qualities. They are hailing him as the new Great Lov- er and he will undoubtedly hold this title for years to come. Student council voted to replace the phono-vision sets in CHS. The new sets will have 24-inch screens. Women Lose On Court Decision The noted Supreme Court Jus- tices, Jim Johnson, Ivan Kitt, Dean Layson, and Bill Coffman, today handed down a decision concern- ing cruelty to the fair sex. Jackie Baker, Eunice Clarlg Della Ree Howe, and Barbara Stannard, ad- visory board of the Society for Prevention of Cruelty to the Fair Sex, were suing Miickgr leqggn, Bob Minzel, gene Nixon, and Paul Potter, reviewers of chorus girls. The Society accused these review- ers of undue criticism of the girl . However, the Supreme Court ruled in favor of the reviewers after hearing testimony by seven chorus girls. Beauteous Gail Applegate, Bernadine Bakken, Toni Hatha- way, Beverly Mfunda, Barbara Naff, Julie Stuhr, and Barbara Webley testified that the men were very kind and considerate. Famed criminal lawyer, Phyllis Oaks, counsel for the five reviewers, was accompanied by her secretary, Betsy Colburn, as she heard the decision was that a pretty leg can turn any man's eye-even a Supreme Court Justice's! Ivan Kitt, in reading the decision, stat- ed , We can see no instance of cruelty on'-the part of -the accused reviewers. They were only doing their jobs as they thought it should be done. The Society should re- joice with the rest of our nation we still have chorus girl reviewers because you can't hardly get none of them no more! T. 0. Morrow ls Palient . The editor of this paper inter- viewed the two 'leading psychia- trists at Medical Puddle yesterday. He was pleased to meet Dr. Susan Baker and Dr. Donna Wilson. Taken on a tour of the building, the editor was presented to the hospital's star pupil, Theron Mor- row. Dr. Baker explained that Theron is very pleasant in class and they have grown used to him after 25 years of association. While he was there, Theron did his latest trick for the editor: he flapped his arms and crowed. Dr. Wilson said that Theron often has new tricks to entertain his fellow patients. Belrothed Girls Honored at Party -Last night, at a beautiful party given by the Chamber of Com- merce, Rose Lundquist, Arvella Kulp, and Patsy Mercer celebrated the 25th year of their engagements. The party -was planned around the theme, Keep on Trying. Shirley Hansen Luiten addressed the girls and their guests on How to Lead Him to the Altar. Mr. and Mrs. Luiten were celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary. The couple and their 24 children presented each girl with a halter and five feet of rope . Cox, Cagle, Promoted The Salvation Army announced today the promotion of Charles Cox and Wally Cagle to the office of Grand Colonels. Known for their interest and sympathy for needy people, these two men have work- ed their way up from blowing trumpets on street corners to now commanding this large organiza- tion. - Commander Potter Tells of Hobby Lieutenant Commander Paul Pot- ter, captain of the U. S. battleship, Crutch, gave an interesting report on hobbies today to the Ladies' Aid. Although Commander Potter is a very busy man with a big job, he still has enjoyed a number of varied and interesting hobbies. Speaking of his early life, the fam- ed commander said his first hobby was getting A's in geometry. After assuming command of the Crutch, his hobby become writing. One of the results of this hobby is the best seller, The Crutch Mutiny. At the present time, Commander Potter has a very unique hobby, review- ing chorus girls. Everyone should have a hobby, he told the entranc- ed ladies of the Ladies' Aid. My present hobby is a great source of relaxation to me after a tough day aboard the Crutch. Even though the SPCFS is suing me and a number of reviewers, I have never been sorry that I chose this hobby. From earning A's in geometry to reviewing chorus girls, any hobby is a wonderful thing to anyone. Class History In the year of 1952 the Sophomore girls walked into C,H, S, with smiling faces for here they would spend the rest of their high school days, The boys would have gone in with them but they were busy learning how to swim in Mr, Violette's creek, That year we had Kaye Biggar's band from Spokane for our Sophomore Hop, Our decorations were planned around the theme, Moonlight and Roses. Our Junior year proved to be another very exciting one especially when everyone started flashing their class rings around, Our Junior Prom was Rhapsody in Blue with Queen Toni and King Ray chosen to reign throughout the evening. The All-Hi picnic was held at Kettle Falls where everyone enjoyed swimming. We decorated for the seniors' graduation where we carried out our school colors of red and white with crepe paper and flowers. In our Senior year many of the girls and boys became leaders in our school, holding such positions as presidents of various clubs, editors of the annual, and student body officers. The senior class will go down in history as not having a Senior Ball, which was the usual custom but we worked together with Sophomores and Juniors to create two new All-High dances. One formal and one semiformal, Before we knew it we were buying name cards and announcements and exchanging pictures with our classmates, which we might take with us to remember our high school days. Our valedictorian, salutatorian and class speakers were chosen for graduation, and while admiring parents and friends watched, the school board presented us with our diplomas and sent us out into the world, Class Will Wally Cagle, will Los Tres Osos back to the Spaniards.
