Q In the future the Class of 1940 will look back upon their school days in Colville High School. I am sure that when you do so it will be with a feeling of grutituie,. a feeling that you have taken with you a few of the essential things necessary to cope with the complexities of life. The knowledge acquired while you were attending Colville High School will be something no one will be able to take from you. A sense of security, because of this knowledge, u feeling that you will be able to take your place in society and do your bit toward social progress, will be a great step toward the goal of happiness and personal satisfaction. In my estimation your goal should be the development of each individual class member to attain the highest degree of personal adjustment. Develop your personal character sbics so that they will aid you in your search for success, but do not overdevelop them to the degree that you will become selfish. Do not be influenced by your personal likes and dislikes. Be cooperative and open-minded. Attack new prob- lems with clear thinking. Seek the truth without letting your personal feeling enter into the situation. Adulthood 0 . stands for mature thought, the pushing of individual desires into the background to make room for ideas that will be ad- ll antageous to group progress. , L4, vpn,-ge ' 6 O I -:S Q9-Q 'I 0 O 1 Another goal shcluld be the development of oitizenzahgp -.6 tithelxifllf. dig qoeffy iizens?p is prqiiom qi prtvllnege has :an ohligation.
