The varsity softball team took first place in heir division by remaining undefeated in the our conference games played. They went on to ake fourth place in the Central Suburban league, losing a chance to win it all by being ,efeated in their final two playoff games by one run. Outstanding players included Eileen San- ry, homerun leader, who was also selected as IVP, and Lynne Lampert with a high average of .722. Sticking together as a team both offensively nd defensively played an important role in ieir success. Despite the playoff losses, Miss 'uerrero found coaching the team a very rewar- ding experience. The J.V. softball team, with the help of ight freshmen, proved their ability by ending he season with a 5-2 overall record. Beside the kill level of the team, an important factor fhich contributed to their winning season was the initiative taken by the girls. The team captain this year was Mary ,udkowski, and MVP was awarded to Margie Lerresheim at the annual awards banquet.
