The season consisted of eight dual meets, one invitational and a conference meet. The varsity ended their season with a 1-3 record and a fourth in conference. J .V. placed first in conference with an undefeated record of 4-0. Conditioning, skills to perfect aim, strategy dis- cussions, and game play comprised the prac- tices. Mary Rafa, captain and MVP, stroked her way to the title of first singles' player on the team and a second in conference. Miss Broucek, the new badminton coach, feels the 24 girls worked hard. She described the season as a building year and believes that things are going to look up. ary Rafa exhibits the quickness that helped her earn the title of First Singles' Player. Weisberger, l Richards, M. Benson. Both the J .V. and varsity basketball teams succeeded in improving over last years records. Additionally, the average number of points per game steadily increased over the past few years. High scorer for the J .V. was Laurie Chrobak with 85 points, who was also named MVP. Co- captain Sue Webber led the varsity team with 90 points. Each squad became a more unified team as the girls learned to believe in themselves and their team by developing positive mental at- titudes.
