More Downhill Racers This S Despite mild winter weather, empty seats on Friday ski trips to Wilmot were not to be found. Three hundred East skiers saved up to 30 per cent by going with the club. Week-end trips to lndianhead-Powderhorn and Mt. LaCrosse enabled members to ski some of the bigger areas of the Midwest. For the past two and a half years, club spon- sors and officers have checked equipment. As a result, no ski club member has been sidelined by a broken bone. Because one-third of the members had never skied before, a new beginner instructor program was started as one more step for safe-guarding accidents. The new program, operated by some of the best skiers, taught beginners the fundamentals of skiing. Club sponsor Mr. Farrell felt that the many members had the chance to get acquainted through club functions. One major function this year was the ski club party held at school, which consisted of swimming, basketball, volleyball and films. Practicing their new trick at Mt.
