Accor- ding to Coach Geselter, this helped the sophomores to place second in conference. Other individual highlights included third places in the conference for Mark Sommer and Dave Pink, and conference championships for John Sedivy and Guy Boliaux, who was later named Most Valuable Wrestler at the March 17 awards banquet. The Sophomore Wrestling Team finished the season 9-1 in the conference, losing only to Glenbrook North. The thirteen sophomores in the program constantly shifted levels of com- petition, with many of them wrestling on the JV and Varsity teams, thus allowing capable freshman to advance to the sophomore level.
