We were duly initiated, and blisters on our feet were a very common problem. Mr. Bradley acted as our sponsor for the year. Nora was elected cheerleader and Wanda and Mary were members of the sextette. Onward we go to our Sophomore year. We were very sorry to lose Larry, Janette, and Ruby. Serving as officers were: President.............Madeline Seigfreid Vice-President................Henry Neff Secretary....... ......Nora McEntee Reporter...................Mary Schaller Treasurereeeeosueosooeeoooeewanda Smiddy Mr. O'Hara was our class sponsor. Wanda and Mary were again in sextette. Allan Hise from Stronghurst joined our ranks in March. Madeline and Henry were selected for royalty at the Penny Carnival. Although we had had a slow start on our treasury, we could now see a definite increase in our funds. Our Junior year was 1958-59. After losing Leota Ellison, we con- tinued with Henry Neff President, Wanda Smiddy, Vice-President, Nora McEntee, Secretary, Allan Hise Treasurer, Madeline Seigfreid, Report- er, Don Boyer, and Mary Schaller. Our class was represented at the Penny Carnival by Madeline and Allan. Wanda and Mary served in the sextette for the third year. Miss Thomas was our sponsor. Bake sales, scrap drives, magazine sales, suppers, and concessions at ball games enlarged our treasury. Our class play WMama's Angel Childn, was pre- sented March 20, netting us around 3100. The last week of school, we ushered at the seniors' baccalaureate, honored the seniors at a picnic at Nauvoo Cwhere we all got soakedl, and ushered the seniors at their graduation. Senior Year! This was our final year at C.H.S. To guide our year, we had very able sponsors, Mrs. Osterhouse and Mr. Oberlies. Mrs. Osterhouse directed our play, WHer Kissin' Cous1n,Wa huge success which brought in over 3120. Wanda and Mary sang in sextette. Nora McEntee was valedictorian and awarded the D.A.R. Nora and Allan were the Senior candidates for king and queen at the Penny Carnival. New Orleans was the choice for our class trip. The Juniors voted to accompany us.
