The Junior College was established in September, 1938, as a part of the Columbus University expansion program, to provide the broad and solid foundation of a liberal educationf' Since that time, the new department has made remarkable forward strides in carrying out its avowed purpose. Under the learned and capable leadership of its Dean, Dr. Francis J. Mullen, the Junior College has equipped itself with a thoroughly competent faculty, which may best be evidenced by the fact that over sixty per cent of the faculty have earned their Doctor of Philosophy degrees at leading universities throughout the nation. The school has a rapidly-growing library and other necessary adjuncts to a modern college.
