One of the finest laurels that can be bestowed on a high school student is for him to be selected as a member of the National Honor Society. To be eligible for membership, the student must excel in four fields: character, scholarship, lead- ership, and service. He must have the recommendation of several members of the faculty, be in the upper one-third of his class, have an l lA, l2B, or l2A class rating, and be chosen by the special committee of teachers and the principal. This year the total membership is 50. The officers for this year are Harold Hoeferkamp, president, Shirley Barnett, vice-president, Howard Crussel, secretary, Don Scheidt, sergeant-at-arms. Miss Maude Davis serves as treasurer and sponsor for this organization. 28

THESPIANS Although most every high school dramatist is desirous of becoming a member of the Na- tional Thespian Society, only a very few attain this goal. One must have taken a major role in a three act play, taken two major roles in one act plays, minor roles in one act plays, or rendered outstanding service in some other capacity. To be eligible for membership the student must have done outstanding work on the school yearbook or newspaper, be a junior or senior, must be in the upper one-third of his class scholastically, and be approved by the national secretary.
