SUPERINTENDENT We associate Nursery Rhymes and Fairy Tales with childhood and the period of life in which we grow up, After the growing up period ends, the rhymes and tales are placed in memory's storehouse, intermingled with the memories of happy experiences of other days. The older one becomes, and the farther removed we are from childhood and youth, the more these early experiences take on the qualities of tales which we shall always treasure and enjoy whether they be fairy or otherwise. Luther A, Lockwood. PRINCIPAL Thinking of the theme presented in the Log this year takes one back to the nursery rhymes of old. Today, even though living in an atomic age with an uneasy feelf ing for the future, we have our old King Coles, Bo Peeps and even a few Simple Simons in all walks of life. Let us attain through education and clean living a true sense of duty, happiness, and contentment that the nursery folk have implanted upon the human soul. ludson Erne. I8

l 'Q' These men with Superintendent Lockwood, are the overseers of our Columbus Schools. Columbus is growing and so is their job. They are doing a good job, too, as shown by our excellent schools.
