MR. DELBERT E. MILLER VICE-PRINCIPAL M. Ed. University of Nebraska MR. NORRIS AUGUSTIN GUIDANCE COUNSELOR M.S. Kearney State College In Memoriam Mr. Robert E. Brooks, w ho died August 30, 1965, will always live in the hearts of Columbus High students and faculty. He attended the University of Nebraska where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education, a Bachelor of Laws Degree, and a Masters Degree in Education. After graduating, he began his law practice and later turned to teaching. Mr. Brooks was a member of the Nebraska Bar Association and the American Bar Association. He was qualified to practice law in David City, in the Ohio Supreme Court, and in the United States Supreme Court. After moving to Columbus, Mr. Brooks became a member of the St. Bonaventure Church and was an active member in the Knights of Columbus. During his nine years at Columbus Senior High School, he taught English, World History, and American History; he was also made an honorary member of the Future Farmers of America. On February 7, a PTA Life Membership in Memoriam was presented to Mr. Gail L. Sims, Superintendent of Schools, in memory of Mr. Brooks. None of the students or teachers of Columbus High will ever forget the warmheartedness, fine school spirit, and leadership that Mr. Brooks demonstrated, nor will they forget the close and sincere companionship that he gave to so many people. 11
