The BASEBALL TEAM of Columbus High, coached by Mr. Ellingson, had a very good year. Not hav- ing very good defense, the boys played excellent of- fensive ball to win most of their encounters, but lost in the first game of the district tournament. Columbus had a GIRLS TRACK TEAM for the first time in many years. The girls worked very hard and participated in a few meets. On Thursday night, we had a snake dance, bonfire and sock hop. Friday afternoon the Cougars played Carpio, al- though we were defeated, there was a lot of spirit at the game. Kangaroo Court provided the upper- classmen with a lot of laughs, and everyone enjoyed the party that ended the day's activities. Lou Ann and Jerry enjoy feeding them- selves. During the day the freshmen found it hard to concentrate on classwork.
